With the evolution of the bakery industry from "scratch baking" to a "bake off type process, opportunities arose for large scale manufacturing of once hand prepared, in-store bakery products. During this period, however, much of the individuality and uniqueness of the previous process was lost. Upper Crust, through its innovative approach has endeavored to fill this void.

Upper Crust started producing frozen pastry dough products and has since developed its product lines to include specialty breads, par-baked and fully baked products. Throughout its development, the words - quality, reliability and innovativeness - have become synonymous with the name Upper Crust.

Upper Crust was founded in May 1982, and has continued to develop into new markets ever since. Presently, the company sells across Canada and into a number of markets in the United States. More recently, in 1996, Upper Crust became a fully certified "Kosher" plant, which immediately opened up otherwise once inaccessible markets. Since then. It has shipped a considerable amount of product to Israel, the Middle East, the United Kingdom and Europe. It is anticipated that this will continue to contribute even more over the upcoming years.

Upper Crust is located in Downsview, Ontario in a fully air-conditioned state-of-the-art plant measuring approximately 50,000 Square feet. Only the latest technology is used at Upper Crust, and no expense has been spared to ensure it can meet its goals.

Upper Crust, through a policy of continuous improvement, quality and innovativeness, will continue to penetrate additional markets, both domestic and others outside of Canada.
